Privacy

Every tool runs in your browser, and what you enter stays on your device. We only measure how the site is used, with Google Analytics.

What stays on your device

  • Everything you type. Prices, quantities and other values are calculated on your device and never sent anywhere.
  • Photos and receipts. The price-tag scanner and the receipt analyzer read images inside your browser. Images are never uploaded, and the receipt analyzer doesn’t keep the image, only the items and totals you save.
  • Saved data. Your currency, recent calculations, shopping lists and subscriptions are kept in your browser’s local storage. Saved receipts are kept in its IndexedDB storage. Each tool has buttons to delete what it saved.
  • Share links. When you share a calculation, its values are in the part of the link after the “#”, which browsers don’t send to the server. Subscriptions and receipts can’t be shared by link.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages and tools they use, and roughly where visits come from, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics sets cookies (named _ga) and receives technical information such as your browser, device type, approximate location and the page you came from.

It does not receive anything you type into the tools, your photos or receipts, or the values in a share link: the page address is sent without the part after the “#”. Google processes this data underits privacy policy. To opt out, block cookies for this site, use a tracker blocker, or install Google’sopt-out browser add-on.

What we don’t do

  • No accounts and no ads. Apart from Google Analytics, no tracking scripts and no other cookies.
  • No paid services or external APIs. The scanner’s reading engine is downloaded from this site the first time you use it.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.

Delete everything

This removes all CheaperPack data from this browser: history, lists, subscriptions, saved receipts and settings. Analytics cookies are separate; clear them in your browser’s site settings.
