Receipt Expense Analyzer

Photograph a receipt, check what it reads, and see where your money goes. All on your device.

Add a receipt

The photo is read on this device and never uploaded. The first scan downloads the reading engine (about 13 MB).

Scan or enter a receipt to see the total, categories and biggest items.

How the receipt analyzer works

  1. Take a photo of the receipt, flat and in good light, or choose one from your gallery.
  2. CheaperPack reads the text on your device and picks out lines that end in an amount. Totals, tax, discounts and payment lines are kept separate.
  3. Check the items, fix anything it misread and choose categories. If the items don’t add up to the total, you’ll see a warning.
  4. Save it to track spending across receipts by category and month.

Long receipts read best in parts: scan the top, then use “Add another photo of this receipt” for the rest. Faded thermal paper can be hard to read for any scanner, so check the amounts.

Questions

Is my receipt uploaded anywhere?

No. The photo is read inside your browser and never leaves your device. CheaperPack doesn’t keep the image; only the items and totals you choose to save are stored in this browser.

What if it reads something wrong?

Receipts vary a lot, so check every line before saving. You can edit names and amounts, change categories, add missing items and delete wrong ones. If the items don’t add up to the receipt total, you’ll see a warning.

Why is the first scan slower?

The reading engine (about 13 MB) downloads the first time and is kept by your browser, so later scans start much faster.

How do I delete my saved receipts?

Use the × next to a receipt to delete it, or “Delete all receipts”. The Privacy page can remove all CheaperPack data at once.
